Prince of Egypt

Release date: December, 1998
"The film was nominated for best Original Music Score and won for Best Original Song at the 1999 Academy Awards for When You Believe. American animated musical film and the first traditionally animated film produced and released by DreamWorks Animation. The film is an adaption of the Book of Exodus and follows the life of Moses and from being prince of Egypt to his ultimate destiny to lead the Hebrew slaves out of Egypt."

Before production began they traveled through Egypt for a couple of weeks. They also brought in bible scholars form Jewish, Muslim and Arab backgrounds because they were concerned about the historical and theological accuracy.

The idea for the film came out Steven Spielberg's living room. One of the 3 of them said you should do the 10 commandments.  A short while later they came up with story boards that they put into Avid Media Composer digital editing system to create a story real. The story real allowed them to edit the entire movie.
